Helping you become a great leader you dream of becoming.

Supporting your organisation to create a positive workplace culture.

Core Values

I’ve shared my core values as an insight into what drives my decisions, behaviour and professional practices.

Achievement

Since I was a teenager, I have always been driven by a desire to achieve. I’ve always set myself ambitious goals which has led to many exciting opportunities and some big achievements - keep reading to learn more.

I fell in love with the idea of leadership in high school through the Peer Support Program. In Year 11, I was allocated a group of year 7 students and tasked with supporting them through their transition into high school.

I took this responsibility so seriously - taking over our dining room table all weekend to prepare for the sessions.

I learned so much about group dynamics, especially how to engage the most reluctant participants and my love of groupwork was born.

Integrity

“The quality of being honest and having strong moral principles” (Oxford Dictionary).

As a qualified Social Worker, I have a professional obligation to operate within the values of the Australian Association of Social Workers.

My consultancy services are designed to help you get the best result possible from our collaboration. I don’t offer brief solutions to complex problems. I value working in partnership with clients to design solutions that are workable but above all, have the greatest impact.

And at the heart of all solutions is integrity.

Knowledge

I am one of those people who is fascinated with learning.

The bonus for my clients is they benefit from my wild obsession with learning and then never missing a chance to share this knowledge.

My consultancy services have a strong evidence base supported by a healthy dose of practical experience.

When I am not working with clients, I am reading and learning to ensure the quality of my consultation services is up-to-date.

My determination and commitment to supporting my clients through their own development and transitions is unwavering. Enabling a leader to be more effective and have a more positive influence on those around them is the greatest job in the world.

Achievements

Churchill Fellow (2013)

In 2013, I was awarded the prestigious Winston Churchill Fellowship (Australia) to identify the key strategies required for health services to effectively work together in response to children and young people at risk of child maltreatment.

The Fellowship involved interviewing experts in Canada, United States of America, England and Ireland.

Doctor of Philosophy

In 2020, I completed a doctoral thesis which described the practices of child and family health nurses when working with children and families where child maltreatment was suspected. The study adopted a pragmatic approach and through mixed methods methodology, two phases of data collection and analysis were conducted with a cohort of practicing child and family health nurses in New South Wales.

My thesis can be found here.

There are a few interesting things I want to share with you.

  • I combine a rural lifestyle living on a farm and travelling to city and regional locations to deliver my consultancy services

  • I am a multiple business owner - I started my consultancy practice in 2016 and founded a co-working space, The Collective Grenfell, in 2020

  • I am a disciplined learner (Bachelor of Social Work, Master of Health Management and Doctor of Philosophy) and was awarded a Churchill Fellowship by the Winston Churchill Memorial Trust

  • I operate my business as a company of one which means I get to partner with an amazing network of women in business who bring their subject matter expertise so I can deliver a top shelf service with a unique commercial edge balanced with a customised and personal approach

  • Once a month, I drive ten hours to take a dip in the ocean all year round (yes, even in winter).

  • Every Friday, I set my alarm for 5:30am and create The Friday Fundamentals - a weekly leadership journal full of reflections, resources and occasional stories about ocean swimming.

I’m absolutely stoked and don’t believe I would have had the capacity to think and create this model if I hadn’t have engaged you first.”

Great leaders don’t magically walk into a workplace with all the answers to make them great.

They seek out the opportunities to develop the right skills to take pride about their approach to leadership.

And then there are managers.

Using the term leader instead of manager is not a matter of semantics.

Leaders are people focused. They inspire and support. They coach for growth. Create psychology safety. Value trust. Navigate conflict.

Managers are task focused. They recruit. They control risks and work for compliance. Plan and prioritise. Manage change. Perform for deliverables.

Learn more about how I help leaders take the leap from good to great.

Working 1 to 1 to get exactly what you need.

“Thank you for all your wisdom and work.

The things you taught me in those few sessions have been profoundly helpful.

It has changed how I show up and work and in life.”

— Senior Leader, Human Services Sector (working 1:1)

Leadership teams are common place in most organisations and businesses.

Yet group dynamics can render leadership teams ineffective when not supported to move from forming to high performance.

Not all teams are actual teams. Some are just a group of individuals labelled as a team.

The relationship within leadership teams are often the most difficult dynamic to manage in a workplace. When relationships are strong and robust, high performance can come naturally.

But when there are relationship ruptures and prolonged conflict, even functioning at a basic level of a leadership team can feel impossible.

I bring a unique perspective, skill set and experience to work with the elephants in the room that are difficult to move from inside the organisation.

Leadership teams*

“Having Belinda come into our team when we were at our most vulnerable has been the most valuable gift to us to rebuild and refocus and do great things as a leadership team.”

— Senior Manager, Human Services Sector (leadership team coaching)

Investing in the professional development for your workforce is an essential cost of doing business. But are you tired of training that doesn’t make any difference?

I deliver training and education programs designed specifically to meet the learning needs of your people to optimise their performance and create long lasting shifts in culture.

Need to see better team cohesion, improved trust or better communication? You’re in the right place.

Ranging from 2-hour workshop through to complete customised leadership programs, I deliver services specifically designed to build capacity to drive performance.

When people know better, they do better. The reality is, not everyone has a natural ability to reflect, be self aware, or understand the impact of their behaviour on others. These skills need to be taught and that is exactly what I do. I teach essential skills that allow people to have honest conversations, build trust across the workplace, and perform as an actual team player.
